Daisy Sue, 2 years old, spayed female, Pointer/Australian Cattle dog mix, 35 pounds. She is located in a foster home in HOUSTON, TEXAS and able to transport once an adopter is matched.
This girl was adopted from a county shelter in October 2025. We don't know the reasons, but she was brought back to the same shelter in February 2025. She found herself on a euthanasia list and that's when we stepped in. Daisy is a truly incredible dog and we are so happy we can provide her a second most deserving chance.
Daisy—affectionately nicknamed “Dollop of Daisy”—is a 35-lb bundle of personality who brings joy, playfulness, and sweetness everywhere she goes. With her adorable zoomies, affectionate cuddles, and happy-go-lucky love of other dogs, Daisy is the kind of pup who will make every day brighter.
A Social Butterfly with Dogs
Daisy absolutely loves other dogs and has paired well with every pup she’s met so far. She’s a high-energy playmate who enjoys romping, wrestling, and playing tug-of-war with her dog friends. She’s great at matching the energy of other dogs and does an excellent job reading social cues—when a playmate is done, Daisy politely backs off and finds her own fun.
She’s interacted with dogs ranging from about 12 lbs to 90 lbs and gets along equally well with males and females. Daisy is also wonderfully submissive and often rolls over belly-up to show her friendly intentions. If you already have a dog at home, Daisy would love a confident canine companion to play with and learn from.
Active, Fun, and Ready for Adventure
Daisy is an energetic young dog who would thrive in an active home. Daily walks, playtime with another dog, or a securely fenced yard where she can burn off energy would make her very happy. She also enjoys keeping an eye out for squirrels and doing a little “yard patrol.”
Despite her energy, Daisy settles nicely and is a fantastic work-from-home companion. She loves hanging out in the office, happily snoozing nearby while you work.
Smart and Well-Mannered
Daisy has already learned a lot in her foster homes. She:
Is fully house trained with zero accidents
Walks beautifully on leash and is not reactive to dogs, runners, or people
Is crate trained and sleeps in her crate at night
Has no issues with resource guarding and shares toys and treats politely
She’s also very food motivated, which makes training easier and fun.
A Sweet, Sensitive Soul
Daisy can be shy when meeting new people, especially men, and may bark or keep her distance at first. With patience, gentle voices, and a little space, she warms up and reveals her affectionate, cuddly nature. Once she trusts you, Daisy loves evening couch snuggles and being close to her favorite people.
Because she’s sensitive, Daisy would do best in a calm home with a predictable routine rather than a busy household with lots of visitors.
Her Ideal Home
Daisy would thrive in a home that offers:
Another friendly dog for companionship (strongly preferred)
An active lifestyle with regular exercise or a yard
Children 10 years or older who understand how to respect a shy dog
She can be left loose in the house when alone and is not destructive—just make sure shoes are picked up, because she thinks they’re fascinating!
A Few Cute Daisy Details
Loves rope toys and playing tug with dog friends
Enjoys chewing on Benebones or Nylabones
Does adorable zoomies with her foster siblings
Often perches proudly on the couch like a little queen
May have some herding breed in her—she’s been known to gently herd her 90-lb foster brother!
The Bottom Line
Daisy may take a little time to feel safe in a new home, but once she does, her sweet, loyal personality truly shines. With patience, love, and a canine buddy by her side, Daisy will blossom into an incredibly devoted companion.
Her future family will be very lucky to call this playful, affectionate girl their own. 💛
