Meet Truffle - the total package. 🤎🐾

Truffle is a 3-year-old, neutered, under-60-pound pittie who we truly believe is the perfect all-around boy.

As of March 2026, Truffle has officially been with us for one full year. And honestly? We cannot understand why.

Truffle came to the shelter as a stray in March 2025. When no one came to reclaim him, we got him ready for adoption. At first, he was what we lovingly call a bit of a "wild child." Full of energy, big personality, and needing guidance. But some dedicated staff members saw his potential right away - and they were absolutely right.

With consistent work from staff, volunteers, and walkers, Truffle blossomed. He didn't just improve - he excelled.

He mastered:

General obedience commands

Polite leash walking

Crate training

Full potty training (yes, even in a shelter setting!)

We were sure he'd be adopted quickly.

When interest didn't come, we decided to give him an even bigger opportunity to shine. Truffle headed to The Dog Company, a local training and boarding facility, for foster and continued structure.

And guess what? He EXCELLED.

They continued building on his training, integrated him into playgroups, took him on outings and adventures - and he proved over and over again that he is an incredibly good, well-rounded dog. We truly thought his forever family would come any day.

But still... nothing.

So next step: a traditional foster home. Let's see how he does in a real household environment.

Once again - he excelled.

An easy, enjoyable walker

Responsive to commands

Structured, and happy

He has done everything we've asked of him. Every single time he's been given a chance, he has risen to the occasion.

We truly cannot brag about this boy enough. He is smart. He is loving. He is structured. He is adaptable. He is ready.

It has been a long year of waiting. Let's make this the month Truffle finally goes home.
