Hi, I'm Rhonda!
Approx. 1-2 years old | APBT Mix | 41 lbs
With a little more weight to gain!
I was the first dog brought to the shelter from the neglect/hoarding case after a fight broke out between us dogs and I was hurt. We had been living in conditions where we often had to compete for basic necessities like food and water. It wasn't because we were bad or mean dogs... we were simply trying to survive.
The good news? Those days are finally behind me...
I'm receiving the medical care I need, my wounds are healing beautifully, and every day I feel a little better.
Out of all the dogs from my case, I'm one of the most shy and bashful ones. I may cower down at first, but underneath that is just the sweetest soul. Every day, I'm growing a little braver.
Everyone here can't get over what a beautiful girl I am, both inside and out.
Sweet and affectionate
Gentle, loving personality
Shy and bashful
Absolutely gorgeous
Ready for a fresh start
Looking for a family to call my own
Like many dogs who haven't had the opportunity to live as cherished family pets, I'll likely need a little guidance with potty training and house manners. With a consistent routine, positive reinforcement, and lots of praise, I should catch on very quickly!
Dogs: I've lived with other dogs before and have been friendly with the dogs here at the shelter, so we expect I'll do well with another dog with proper introductions. Because of what I've been through, we'd simply recommend supervising me around food, treats, and other high-value items if there are other pets in the home. After spending so much of my life worrying about basic necessities, I just need a little time to learn that there's always enough and I'll never have to worry about going without again.
Cats: I seem to be cat friendly! I did well meeting the office cat.
Children: Based on my gentle, sweet nature, we expect I'll do very well with respectful kiddos.
I've already survived the hardest chapter of my life. Now I'm ready for the chapter where I get to be someone's best friend... where full food bowls, soft beds, kind hands, and unconditional love become my new normal.
