Missy came to AWS after she was dropped off at animal control as a stray. It was later discovered that the person that dropped her off, was her owner. They chose to surrender her due to the other dog in the home not adjusting well to her.
She is estimated to be about 5 months old. She is a Pitbull Terrier mix and currently weighs about 40 pounds. We believe she will be on the larger side.
Experience with bully breeds/Pitbulls is required to adopt Missy.
While she is standoffish upon meeting new people (barks & growls), but once she is comfortable; her energy level is at 100%.
We recommend that whoever adopts Missy to seek professional training from someone who is familiar with bully breeds. She is a dog that NEEDS guidance, strict schedules, and expectations.
Missy is not a dog that will be okay with being a couch potato. She needs an active owner or a backyard where she can exercise.
She is not suitable for small kids. It is unknown how she is with other dogs or cats.
Missy needs to be fed separate from other dogs due to resource guarding.
She has not displayed any aggression whatsoever towards people.
Missy is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped.
