DJANGO - Pit Bull Terrier Dog for Adoption in Indianapolis, Indiana

Django is a 2-year-old, 47-pound goofball with a playful spirit and a talent for making people laugh. He was once discovered hiding almost entirely beneath his bed, leaving only his backside visible, and then refused to come out when someone tried to photograph the evidence. Outside his kennel, Django is affectionate, enjoys butt scratches, gives kisses, and occasionally attempts to place all 47 pounds of himself in someone’s lap. He loves toys, plays tug, is beginning to understand fetch, and takes treats gently.

Django has plenty of youthful enthusiasm and can become jumpy and use his mouth when his excitement gets too high. Calmly ending play and giving him time to settle works better than pushing him away. He will benefit from an experienced adopter who can provide structure, reward good choices, and help him polish his manners. Because his exuberance can be overwhelming, a home without young children would be best. His experience with dogs and cats is unknown. Django is not a finished product, but that is part of the opportunity: someone willing to guide this silly, affectionate young dog will gain a devoted companion with a big personality, an eager mind, and enormous potential.
