Poppy is a pit mix who is truly the sweetest girl. Over the past three weeks with us, she has been nothing but an absolute doll. She has that playful, nibbly puppy energy, but she is incredibly eager to learn and even more eager to snuggle. Poppy thrives on human connection and would happily curl up with her people any chance she gets. She does wonderfully with our other dog, and would likely thrive in a home with another friendly, patient pup. We've also worked hard on helping her stay neutral in situations that kids can sometimes create touching her feet, tail, and general child play, and she has handled it beautifully.
Poppy is already learning so much! She knows sit, stay, lay down, touch, leave it, come, and "mat" (her place command). She is mostly crate trained and loves her blankie and toys. She's a fast eater, so we use puzzle feeders to keep her mentally stimulated. She's improving on leash daily, and potty training is a work in progress but going well.
She gets a little chilly sometimes and she looks extra adorable in a jacket.
Poppy would do best in an active, outdoorsy family who will continue her training (+ socialization), include her in adventures, and give her the love and structure she deserves. She would especially thrive with kids and potentially other pets who can match her playful spirit. It is our hope that her forever family will continue her training and activity regimens.
She is ready to find her forever home one full of snuggles, adventures, and unconditional love.
