Jake - Pit Bull Terrier Dog for Adoption in Greensboro, North Carolina

Jake is a one-of-a-kind-looking guy with a gentle heart and a softer side.

This 3-year-old, 53 lb boy was found as a stray and has been sweet from the start. Jake has a unique look that makes him stand out, but it's his gentle personality that really makes him special.

Jake appears to be either partially or fully deaf, especially since he doesn't seem particularly bothered by all the barking dogs around him. He has also met a few dogs through the fence and always shows positive, calm body language.

Jake is timid and most comfortable with his handler, so he'll need a patient adopter who can help him settle in and build trust. Once Jake feels comfortable, he's a big softie. He'll flop right over for belly rubs, soak up attention and happily stay close to the person he trusts.

Give him some time, a little reassurance and plenty of belly rubs, and you'll get to see the sweet, gentle guy underneath that initial shyness.

As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog to dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines.

To meet/adopt, visit us in Greensboro, NC from 12-4pm any day except Tuesdays; no appointment needed.
