May is a 2-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier (no promises!) with the personality of a ray of sunshine and the body of the cutest little house hippo. She’s the perfect mix of playful and snuggly—young enough to keep life fun and adventurous, but wise enough to know that a long cuddle session is sometimes the best activity of all.
May is, in short, a total goofball. She loves any toy—seriously, tennis balls, squeakers, ropes, stuffed animals, you name it—and she’ll play tug, fetch, or even toss it up and catch it herself like the silly entertainer she is. After playtime, she’ll roll right into your lap (or attempt to, even if she doesn’t quite fit) and give you her signature pittie smile that could melt the iciest of hearts. She’s affectionate, wiggly, and always ready to make her humans laugh.
May isn’t just a people dog—she’s also a dog’s dog! She loves romping with canine friends, zooming in circles, wrestling like a champ, and then trotting happily by their side once she’s had her fun. She’s a confident girl who can keep up with rowdy play, but she’s also smart enough to know when it’s time to take a break. She’d love to have a medium-energy pup sibling who enjoys her playful style.
May is what we like to call cat-tolerant! She does well with calm, dog-savvy kitties, politely sniffing and then going about her business. To keep life peaceful, she’d do best with a dog sibling if there’s a cat in the home—because when she’s not entertained by a dog buddy, she might try to make the cat her playmate. (And we all know cats don’t always approve of that!)
Although she hasn’t been officially tested on children, May has a sweet, gentle, and affectionate nature that we think would make her a great companion for kids. She’s the type of pup who would happily play in the yard, join in on adventures, or plop down for cuddles during family movie night. Basically, she’s up for anything, as long as she’s with her people.
May is super adaptable—she could live in a house with a yard or even an apartment, as long as she gets exercise, playtime, and plenty of belly rubs. She’s happiest when she’s with her humans, whether that’s on a hiking trail, exploring a park, or snuggled up like the coziest house hippo you’ve ever met.
May isn’t just adorable (though, let’s be real, she’s basically a living stuffed animal). She’s funny, wiggly, playful, gentle, and loving—everything you could want in a furry best friend. She has the kind of personality that makes strangers smile, the kind of eyes that make you feel seen, and the kind of heart that will make you wonder how you ever lived without her.
If you’re ready for endless cuddles, goofy zoomies, silly smiles, and unconditional love, May is waiting to wiggle her way into your life. Adopt May, and your lap, your heart, and your toy basket will never be the same!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
