Yams is a sweet, middle-aged girl whose greatest joy in life is simply being close to her people. She had a very rough start to life but is debatably the most laid-back and easygoing dog you will ever meet who is happiest being a couch potato (hence her name), slowly moseying around the house, and soaking up affection and sunshine.
If you're looking for a calm companion rather than an adventure buddy, Yams is your girl. Yams has bilateral cruciate disease in her knees along with mild arthritis. Because of this, she will likely need to remain on pain medications and joint supplements long-term to keep her comfortable. The good news is that her relaxed personality makes this diagnosis a great match for her lifestyle - she isn't an active dog and has no interest in high-impact activities. With proper management, we do not expect this to significantly limit her quality of life.
Yams doesn't ask for much - just a soft place to rest, gentle walks, and humans to love. In return, she'll give you endless companionship and quiet devotion.
