Pit Bull Terrier Dogs Available for Adoption

It breaks our hearts to write this, but we are looking for a calm, understanding home for our sweet girl Poppy.

Poppy is an 8-year-old pit bull who is truly a good dog. She was found abandoned after the ice storm in 2021. She is not aggressive, but she can be protective of her owners, especially in busy or unpredictable situations. Because of this, we believe she would do best in a quiet, low-traffic home without frequent new visitors.

Poppy has been absolutely wonderful with our baby and now our 2-year-old. She is gentle, respectful, and patient with her. That said, we feel she would likely thrive even more in a home with no children or teenage aged children that understand how to give dogs space and read their cues especially if friends visit. She has primarily been around small dogs and does well.

A little more about Poppy:
-Walks well on a leash
-Relatively low energy, couch potato
-Crate trained and sleeps there at night
-Trained with e-collar (can be included in adoption if requested)
-Treat-motivated and eager to please
-LOVES cuddles and being close to her people
-Loyal, affectionate, and deeply bonded to her family
-Would do best in a calm home with a consistent routine and limited visitors

Poppy is looking for someone who can offer her patience, stability, and a peaceful environment where she can relax and truly feel secure. In the right setting, she is an incredibly loving and devoted companion.
This decision has not been easy for us, and our only goal is to find the best possible home for her where she can be happy and safe.
