Oden spent the first part of his life in a homeless encampment. He's never had a couch to call his own, a routine to count on, or a person to follow room to room. He's two years old, and for the first time, he's getting to figure out what home actually feels like.
And he's figuring it out fast!
This golden boy is sharp, social, and deeply attached to his people. He already knows "sit," picks up new things quickly when someone takes the time to guide him, and has the kind of loyal, shadow-you-everywhere energy that turns a house into a home. He loves walks, chew toys, treats, and being close to whoever he trusts. Give him your time, and he gives you everything he has.
Because home is new to him, Oden is still working on the basics. He isn't yet potty trained and needs a patient adopter who can help him build those foundational habits. He can get excited and mouthy, and we're still learning whether that's enthusiasm or early resource guarding, so consistent, committed training is a must. He's also reactive around other dogs, though we haven't yet formally assessed whether that's a play response or uncertainty. For now, he does best as an only dog.
Oden needs someone who has been around dogs with complicated histories and understands that the investment is the point. The right adopter won't be looking for an easy dog. They'll be looking for a real one.
If you're active, patient, and ready to be the person who gives Oden his actual beginning, he's waiting for you.
