Virgil is a wild child. At first.
We can’t blame him for his burst of energy. It is his second time living in a kennel in only a few months. He seems younger than his age. The fresh snow makes him extra excited too (because it’s fun). When Virgil first arrived in October he was a very skinny boy. We don’t think Virgil has done much living, just surviving. Now he’s healthy and happy. We just need to find him his right home.
Chicago Animal Care and Control is located at 2741 S. Western Ave., Chicago, IL, and is open from 12pm to 7pm daily. Walk-in visitors are welcome and helped on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are planning to adopt the day you visit, please plan to arrive before 5:30pm. Visitors arriving after 5:30pm will still be able to view animals in Pavilions A-B-C until 7pm.
All dogs will be spayed/neutered and vaccinated before adoption.
All household members should be present to meet dogs (especially those under 18 and any decision-makers).
We recommend and can arrange dog-to-dog meet and greets for your current dog(s) to meet a potential dog sibling at the shelter. You will need to show proof of up-to-date rabies vaccination for your dog(s). Slow, cautious, and appropriate introductions are recommended after you allow time for decompression for the shelter dog.
