DESCRIPTION
MEET MARIGOLD! My friends describe me as: Enthusiastic, cuddly, playful Marigold is a delightful young dog who weighs only around 50lbs, named for her beautiful golden eyes. She is potty trained, walks fantastic on leash (though she can get a bit excited at times), and is friendly with all she meets. This sweet lady likely had a litter or two of puppies before making her way north via our transport program. Once here, she tested positive for heartworm disease. This is a very common disease in dogs transported from the south, that luckily is not contagious to other animals or people. It is spread via mosquito bite, which is why it is quite common in warmer climates. Luckily, this disease is treatable and she is in recovery! Now that she has received treatment, it will be important that her new family restricts her exercise/activity through the month of August. If you are able to open up your home to give a special girl a new lease on life, please come meet her! Marigold is currently up to date on all vaccinations, has been spayed/neutered, microchipped and seen by our vet team. For more information on Marigold or any other animal currently residing at the Animal Rescue League of Boston, please call us at 617-426-9170. We welcome adopters from NH, RI, CT, and NY. However, we will be unable to facilitate same day adoptions due to state regulated paperwork requirements.
