Hi, my name is Badger! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home:
-Personality: Playful, affectionate
-Can Live with Kids: Teens (13 years +) who are dog-savvy and sturdy are likely fine. Badger can get a bit over-excited at times and may knock over small children.
-Can Live with Cats: Unknown history - might be okay with a dog-savvy cat. Would not recommend senior or shy kitties.
-Can Live with Dogs: Yes, all intros done at WHS
-Can do Apartment Living: Not recommended but might be okay with plenty of daily exercise and mental stimulation. A home with a yard would be preferred.
-Potty Trained: Might need a little work.
-Bite History: No
-Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes Badger is required to be signed up for basic obedience lessons.
-Energy Level: High
-Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes a neuter
-Additional Information: Badger is a young pup who arrived to the shelter as a stray. He’s young, eager to learn, and responds well to positive reward-based training. With continued guidance, consistency, and patience, Badger has all the potential to grow into a wonderfully well-mannered companion. Regular exercise, enrichment, and training sessions will help him channel his energy in healthy ways and build his confidence. Badger would not do well being left alone for long periods of time and is looking for a family that can give him plenty of companionship, attention, and opportunities to learn.
If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
