Richard is a handsome, happy guy with a big personality and an even bigger heart. He’s fully house trained and crate trained, and since coming into foster care he hasn’t had a single accident in the house — what a good boy!
Richard is smart and active, but he is also a power chewer who needs supervision indoors and plenty of heavy-duty toys to keep him busy. Give him durable enrichment and clear boundaries, and he’ll thrive. He’s the kind of dog who does best with structure and an outlet for his energy.
When it comes to other dogs, Richard generally gets along well — but he plays hard. His style is rough, rowdy, and sometimes a little pushy. Dogs who enjoy that kind of play will have a blast with him. However, sensitive or reactive dogs won’t appreciate his enthusiasm. He would do best with a confident, playful dog companion who can match his energy or patiently tolerate his bold personality.
On leash, Richard is still a work in progress. He’s strong and does pull, but he has already shown improvement with consistent training. With continued guidance, he’ll keep getting better every day.
Despite his rough-and-tumble play style, Richard is incredibly cuddly and affectionate with his people. He loves attention and isn’t shy about soaking it up. After a good play session, he’s more than happy to settle down and be your snuggle buddy.
If you’re looking for a fun-loving, affectionate dog with a big zest for life — and you’re ready to provide sturdy toys, structure, and lots of love — Richard might just be your perfect match.
