Meet Zena!

A spirited five-and-a-half-year-old American Pitbull Terrier/German Shepherd mix currently in Brimfield, MA, whose essence is a vibrant burst of loyalty wrapped in a striking black-and-white coat.

At around 80 pounds, Zena is a beautiful large-breed girl who brings enthusiasm, affection, and plenty of personality to every day! She proudly considers herself a friendly land shark, and once she gets to know someone, her loving nature shines brightly. While she can be a little cautious around new faces at first, patience, kindness, and a few tasty treats quickly help her discover new friends. Show her your gentle side, and she will gladly return the favor with devotion and companionship.

Zena has shared her life with children ranging from ages 9 to 18, cats, a small puppy, and even rabbits! She has a wonderful history of living peacefully with a variety of animal companions and is especially gentle with the cats she currently spends time with. Although she can be selective with unfamiliar dogs, careful introductions and continued positive reinforcement can help her build new canine friendships over time.

This energetic girl loves running through the backyard, exploring the outdoors, chewing on deer antlers, and enjoying delicious Milk-Bones and dog snacks. She knows commands such as sit, paw, and lay down, comes when called, enjoys car rides, and is always ready for her next adventure! Whether it is a hike, a long walk, or simply stretching her legs in a fenced yard, Zena thrives when she has room to move and a family who enjoys an active lifestyle.

Because she is strong and can pull hard on leash when something catches her attention, Zena would do well with a physically capable guardian who is committed to continuing her leash-training journey. She is house-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. Aside from some anxiety during veterinary visits, which is managed with medication, she is in good health!
