ELLA — The Girl Who Never Gave Up

Born August 13, 2024, Ella spent the first year and a half of her life confined to a cage with little human kindness. Despite that, her heart remains incredibly gentle.

Before coming into rescue, Ella’s only experience with humans was inhumane & she quickly learned humans were to be feared. Ella has slowly started realizing that humans can be humane. When she’s scared, she freezes or runs to safety. Fear is still her first instinct — but she is trying every single day.

Other dogs are her comfort and confidence. A playful yet steady canine companion is essential for her continued growth. She truly blossoms around them.

Ella needs a home with:

• Exceptional patience and a gentle heart
• Respect for slow, steady progress
• No young children
• A fenced yard or committed leash handling (she cannot be off leash due to fear bolting) and a sweet, playful doggie brother

Cats are unknown.

When Ella decides you’re safe, she becomes a different dog —soft, sweet, playful, and achingly hopeful- touching you with her nose & giving gentle kisses.

She is food motivated, crate trained, working on potty training, and rides well in the car. She enjoys peaceful walks and the comfort of home. At 38 pounds, she’s a perfect medium-sized companion. Her crate is still her safe space, but she’s gradually learning the world can be safe too.

Ella doesn’t need perfection — just someone patient and kind who will celebrate small victories and let trust grow at her pace. In return, she’ll give a deeply meaningful, hard-earned love. She’s ready for her safe place. Her forever.

Adoption fee $325
