DESCRIPTION
*Woof* I'm in a foster home. Please elinormckinney@gmail.com to meet me!
Gomez is amazing. He is one of those dogs that has survived the worst but was so determined to get better and that he did. Gomez arrived at HRA in a severely malnourished state. We honestly didn't think he would make it. With a lot of love, great medical care and some prayers, he pulled through! We are all so thrilled for this brave boy. Gomez now needs devoted adopters that can help him on his road to recovery. He is a stoic young man with so much potential. He will thrive with patient adopters who can fuss over him and give him the TLC he needs. Good meals, extra soft beds and lots of kindness will be so appreciated for this lovely and special sweetie pooch. Do you have a big heart for the animals that need some extra love? If you do, please make time to meet Gomez and show him the good life- the one he deserves!
And P.S. This special boy loves sniffy walks, treats (LOTS of treats), butt scratches, and most of all - plenty of pets and cuddles.
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
The Pit Bull Terrier is a resilient and loyal breed known for its muscular build and loving nature. Originally bred for bull baiting and later dog fighting, Pit Bulls today are beloved family pets cherished for their gentle temperament and playful personality. With proper training and socialization, Pit Bull Terriers make affectionate companions that thrive on human interaction. Recognized for their strength and agility, these dogs require regular exercise and mental stimulation to channel their energy positively, reinforcing their reputation as devoted and trainable pets.
We are DC's only open-access shelter. We are always available to help any animal in the District of Columbia. We have cats, dogs, rabbits, and more available for adoption out of our two shelters and also run the Capital Area Spay and Neuter Center.
