Buckeye is the definition of heart-melter. From the moment you meet him, he leans into you like he already knows you’re his person. He has that soft, squishy puppy face paired with the sweetest, most trusting eyes, and when his tiny tail starts wagging, his whole body wiggles along with it. At just one month old, Buckeye is in that precious stage where he’s discovering the world one tiny step at a time—and everything fills him with wonder.
He absolutely loves playtime with his siblings, tumbling over them in clumsy, adorable puppy fashion, but what really sets Buckeye apart is how much he craves closeness. He’s the one who will toddle over when things quiet down, curl into your lap, and drift off to sleep like he’s found his safe place. He already shows signs of being deeply people-oriented, the kind of dog who will follow you from room to room just to be near you.

Of course, with all that sweetness comes the reality of puppyhood. Buckeye is a baby—he will need help learning everything. Potty training, crate training, leash walking, and understanding boundaries will all take time, patience, and consistency. There will be chewed shoes, little accidents, and moments where you question your sanity—but there will also be first milestones that make your heart burst.
As a pitbull/lab mix, Buckeye is likely to grow into a loyal, affectionate, and intelligent companion. These breeds are known for their deep bonds with their people, and Buckeye is already showing that he’s going to be someone’s shadow, best friend, and constant source of love.
Buckeye isn’t just looking for a home—he’s looking for someone to grow up with, someone to learn from, and someone to love with his whole heart for the rest of his life.

At our 2-acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth, and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
