Meet Casey!
Casey is a female pit mix who was born October 2025! She came to Beagles and Bentleys with her littermates - all females - that we named in honor of Bob Weir of the Grateful Dead. Casey is named after the Dead's song - "Casey Jones."
Casey was very scared when she first arrived, but her fosters have been so patient and loving that she has made almost a complete 180! She LOVES the other dogs in her foster home, and has become a super snuggler! We can't believe that she used to be scared of touch. She is absolutely perfect, has the most cutest ears, so polite, and ready for her new best friend!
She is leash and potty trained, is still shy around new people but has learned to trust. She would do best in a home with other dogs to show her the ways and things are safe, and a fenced in back yard! Once she gets comfortable, she is a lovebug. She is crate trained, and up to date on all vaccines and preventatives. Casey is almost fully grown and about 35-40lbs. She is such a sweet girl with a laid back, calm demeanor. She gets the most excited when she is around other dogs and is getting more and more comfortable with new people.
She is being fostered in Richmond, VA and is up to date on vaccinations and monthly preventatives, spayed, microchipped, and heartworm negative.. Her adoption fee is $375 and covers the cost of age-appropriate vaccinations and cost of care while in foster. We require that all adopters, regardless of the dog’s age, are committed to ongoing training and socialization as part of responsible ownership. To apply to adopt Casey, visit www.beaglesandbentleys.org/adopt.
Note: Sending a Petfinder inquiry is not submitting an application. We require a completed adoption application to move forward with adoption.
Beagles and Bentleys has an across-the-board evaluative process that we apply to every application we review that prioritizes our animals in need. We conduct a vet reference check (all resident dogs must be altered/up to date on dhpp/rabies and monthly preventatives) and a virtual home visit call where we discuss the adoption process and see your home.
