Benny is the definition of a "hang out" dog. He isn’t just looking for a house; he’s looking for a best friend to share his days with. While he’s still learning that the world isn't so scary, he’s a total shadow who wants to be right where the action is (as long as that action involves his favorite people). Whether you’re folding laundry or lounging on the couch, Benny is happy to be your loyal, low to the ground sidekick.

Small Package, Big Personality! We think Benny is a handsome Pitbull Terrier mix, but as with any rescue, his DNA is a fun mystery! He is perfectly compact and easy to take on adventures, weighing in at 40lbs a sturdy but portable size. He’s "short and stout," making him the ideal travel buddy for someone who wants a real dog feel in a convenient, apartment friendly package.

Benny is currently living the good life in a foster home with two small dogs and a 7 year old human! When it comes to other dogs, Benny is a total rockstar! He greeted his foster siblings with a "let’s play!" attitude and spent his. He’s proven he can coexist beautifully with a pack and is a brave boy when it comes to family life.

He is dog friendly! He would thrive best with a doggy sibling who matches his playful energy or a confident dog who can show him that the world is a fun place. If you have a dog who loves a good game of tag, Benny is their man! He could also thrive either as an only dog soaking up all the attention.
Benny Boy thinks cats are fascinating maybe a little too fascinating! He’d prefer a home where he can be the only star of the show (or at least one without feline roommates to chase). Because he’s so focused on his kitty friends, a cat free home is the best way to keep everyone happy and relaxed!

The ideal castle for our Short King would be a place with a little bit of structure and a lot of love. While he’s compact enough for an apartment, he’d thrive in a home with a yard where he can run off his energy.

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop off locations, in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, connect with fellow adopters and fosters through our private Facebook event page!
Before the adoption is finalized, you will meet your pet through a video call, creating a fun and personalized experience!
The adoption fee is $1,200.00 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
