Lucky Boy is believed to be a Pittie mix approximately 1 year old and currently weighs 53 lbs. He is a rescue dog and with any rescue, it’s always a mystery and we can’t guarantee breed or age.
When it comes to people, Lucky absolutely adores them. He greets new friends with a wagging tail and a big smile, happily leaning in for affection and soaking up attention. His goofy personality and sweet nature make him incredibly endearing, and instantly makes connections. Lucky is a curious, engaged dog who truly enjoys experiencing life alongside his humans. He’s the kind of companion who is always interested in what’s going on around him and loves having activities to focus his mind. Puzzle toys, licky mats, and enrichment games are some of his favorites, and he lights up when he has something fun to work on. He’s a smart boy who enjoys using both his brain and his body, and he does best when he has outlets that keep him engaged and fulfilled.
One of Lucky’s favorite adventures so far has been visiting the beach. He loved watching the birds, exploring the shoreline, and even digging around in the sand looking for little crabs. You could see how much joy he got from discovering new sights and smells. Whether it’s exploring a new place, investigating interesting scents, or simply having something fun to do, Lucky approaches the world with curiosity and enthusiasm.
Lucky is dog-friendly and has done great with all of the dogs we have introduced him too. He will play in short bursts, but for the most part, you’ll find him exploring, rolling around on his back in the grass, or soaking up affection from his people Lucky is a confident, happy-go-lucky guy who would be perfectly fine as your one and only, too. He doesn’t need the company of another dog to feel comfortable or entertained. In his mind, he’s already the center of your world, meaning more belly rubs and affection for him! When he’s not playing with a friend or spoiling you with his love, you’ll find him playing with a tennis ball or his favorite stuffed toy. His favorite game is tug-of-war, especially when his humans are playing along. Ultimately, Lucky loves doing anything that involves being with his people. He’s a people’s dog through and through.
Lucky is also a wonderful companion to bring along on outings. He rides well in the car, loads up easily, walks like a gentleman with his gentle leader and enjoys being included in everyday adventures. Lucky is such a thoughtful, observant dog who enjoys having things to do, he will do best in a home that provides structure, routine, and engaging activities. A calmer household without a lot of constant commotion will help him settle into a rhythm where he can truly shine. With the right balance of companionship, enrichment, and opportunities to explore, Lucky blossoms into a loyal and deeply devoted companion.
Lucky would thrive in a semi-active home that enjoys sharing life with their dog. Whether that means exploring new places together, offering enrichment activities at home, or simply including him in the rhythm of the day. With the right environment and guidance, Lucky will be an incredibly rewarding companion for someone who appreciates a dog with curiosity, personality, and a big heart.
We are willing to test Lucky Boy with anything you need in order to ensure it's a perfect match. We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!
We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.
Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
