With a face like that, how can anyone resist Velvet Peaches? The moment you meet her, you’ll immediately notice those adorable bat-like satellite ears of hers that seem to perk up and catch every little sound around her. They’re impossibly cute and somehow make her expressions even more charming. And then there’s her size… Velvet is just the most perfectly petite little lady. She’s one of those dogs that makes you instinctively want to scoop her up, talk to her in a baby voice, and give her all the smooches. She happily accepts every bit of affection too. From kisses to booty scratches, and belly rubs, Velvet is here for all of it.

Velvet Peaches is a bully mix approximately 5 years old and currently weighs 39 lbs. She is a rescue dog and with any rescue dog, it's always a mystery and we cannot guarantee breed or age. One thing is certain, this happy girl is a lovable piggy wrapped in fur that loves to love and she’s little! Don’t let her pictures fool you, she barely even comes up to your knees. Almost everyone that meets her typically even comments about how small she is.
Velvet is such a happy, happy dog! She lights up a room every time she walks in and that tail is just wagging as fast as it can go LOL. It never stops actually. You can just look in her direction and that tail will start wagging. We mention how friendly and happy Velvet is and how she quite literally lights up a room, and that cannot be more true. She absolutely adores every single person she meets and immediately befriends them and is loving all over them. She loves with her whole body and is the type of dog that wants to crawl into your lap, smother you with kisses, and be held like a baby. Velvet loves to cuddle and would probably stay in your lap cuddling for however long you would let her. Velvet matches the energy and matches the vibe and has the ability to make everyday that much better. So get ready for strangers to stop you while out on a walk because it's going to happen and she's going to love it too.
Velvet is very dog friendly and has done great with all of the dogs we have introduced her too. She is not a very playful gal with the other dogs and is a tolerant little lady with the rowdy youngsters. She will give a correction to those youngster dogs who get all up in her face trying to her get to play which is totally fair. For the most part, Bella enjoys being your little shadow in playgroups and asking for affection. If you have another dog, her best match would be a pup that matches her speed. Cool, calm, and collected with no real interest in playing simply because Bella isn't a playful type with dogs. She would love to just hangout, enjoy the company of the other dog, and maybe even cuddle up together. Bella also wouldn't mind being your one and only fur baby too. She loves the attention and she doesn't need the company of another dog to help her feel comfortable either. Bella is a happy confident girly all on her own.
Velvet has wonderful house manners, walks easy on a leash, loves treats and already knows a handful of commands such as sit and is capable of learning so much more.
She loves to please and make you happy so any additional training will be that much more enjoyable for you both and you'll always get a good giggle out of it too because of her little snorts, cute teefers, and the way her ears stand straight up when she’s fully engaged with you.
Velvet has also shown us that she is crate trained and potty trained too!
Velvet would thrive in a home with a backyard and also would thrive in an apartment. She enjoys being outside during those cooler days, while also having an affinity for lazy couch days. She is not high energy and is a total cuddle bug and would even make a great work-from-home buddy. Velvet will be right next to you snoring away on the couch as cozy as can be. All Velvet requires in her future home is to be spoiled and treated like the little snorty princess that she is.
Velvet would also do great with a family that has kids. She has spent time with kids as young as 5 years old and she did great! Velvet was completely comfortable around young children and it was seamless for her, almost like she already knows how to be a family dog with kids and loved getting spoiled by them and all the belly rubs. All she wanted to do was give kisses and cuddle. At the end of the day, Velvet is all about love, tail wags, and just being included.

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop off locations, in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, connect with fellow adopters and fosters through our private Facebook event page!
Before the adoption is finalized, you will meet your pet through a video call, creating a fun and personalized experience!
The adoption fee is $1000 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+.
