Meet Slurpee, a 6–7 year old, 15 lb Terrier mix we lovingly call “Mr. Social.” If there were an award for Friendliest Guy on the Block, Slurpee would already have it framed.

Slurpee starts his day bright and early at 6am with a quick walk to take care of business. Afterward, he enjoys hanging out and nibbling on breakfast before settling into his crate when his foster parents head to work around 7:30am. In the afternoon (around 3:30), he’s ready for his medium-length walk, followed by one of his favorite activities: backyard fetch. Evenings include another stroll, a little cool-down time, and lights out by 9:30pm. He’s house trained, appreciates a predictable routine, and while he doesn’t love sleeping in his crate, he handles it just fine.

When Slurpee first arrived, it didn’t take long to see who he truly is: a full-hearted lover with playful spunk. He attaches easily and proudly selected his “primary human” early on — the lucky person he follows from room to room like a devoted little shadow. That said, he’s generous with his affection and happily cuddles with everyone in the home. He’s a big snuggler, the kind of dog who melts into you on the couch after a play session. He loves squeaky toys, enjoys a good game of fetch, and has the perfect balance of playful energy and couch potato charm.

On walks, Slurpee does quite well on leash. Sometimes he strolls politely at your side; other times he gets excited and pulls ahead, especially if he spots a potential new best friend. He’s extremely curious and eager to greet other dogs and people — sometimes a little too eager — because in his mind, everyone is just a friend he hasn’t met yet. At home, he’s generally quiet, offering only minimal barking at the door.

Slurpee lived in a room with other dogs when at the shelter, though he's currently the only dog in his foster home. He could live with another dog but would be just as happy as a solo pup. He would thrive in a home where he can explore the world, soak up attention, play fetch, and then curl up for dedicated cuddle time. He’s easygoing, adaptable, and low maintenance overall — just happiest when he has companionship and engagement.

One thing that truly sets Slurpee apart is his joyful outlook. He is more curious than cautious and approaches life with an open heart. He’s incredibly smiley, always looking like he’s in on a happy little secret. Even when faced with a grumpy dog barking at him, Slurpee’s response is essentially, “But what if we were best friends?”

He does have some dental issues and is getting used to having his teeth cleaned, but he handles it like a champ. His adoption fee has been reduced as he will likely need a dental sometime in the near future.

If you’re looking for a cheerful, affectionate companion who offers both playtime enthusiasm and expert snuggles, Slurpee is ready to sweeten your life.
