Norwich Terrier and Cairn Terrier Dogs Available for Adoption

This cute little Benji-type terrier mix was abandoned and terrified hiding in the corner of his kennel surrounded by big barking dogs at our local animal control. He was shy and timid at first but has really come out of his shell and a lovable guy once he feels safe. We think he’s about 4 year old and some type of Yorkie/cairn/norwich/silky type mix, very thin but should be about 15lbs, and has been neutered and updated on shots. He was major drama for vetting but likes being picked up and held like a baby when he bonds, is a cuddler, and likes other small dogs.

Since COVID-19, we are no longer holding our Sunday adoption events until further notice, but we are scheduling meet and greet appointments with a specific dog or dogs at our meeting spots in Northern NJ. Please check your email regularly for next steps. All our dogs reside in foster care in Northern NJ until adoption and we do not have a central shelter location. We are a small all-volunteer organization focused on rescuing local dogs from area shelters, as well as accepting some surrenders and puppy mill rescues.

Originally bred for hunting rodents, they are energetic, intelligent, and great with families. Their prick ears and expressive eyes give them a charming appearance, and their playful demeanor makes them popular as both a companion and a show dog.
