Mountain Cur and Hound Dogs Available for Adoption

This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally.

Meet Jetson Zoom, an almost 4-month-old Mountain Cur/ Hound mix, weighing around 17 pounds (as of 2/12/26). This sweet boy comes from the ZOOM litter who were previously cast mates on the Real Strays of Tennessee before they realized being a Real House Dog of New England would be a way better fit! They can't wait to find their fur-ever families!

Jetson's world consists of two things and two things only: playing and napping. So if you're a dog or kid or stranger who loves to play, you'll already be on his favorites list! (He hasn't had experience with cats yet, but he suspects they'll be on his list too). When it comes to playing, Jetson sometimes get a little too excited (he is a puppy after all) and may use his teeth to play. While he's working on not doing that, he asks that you have patience with him. For your help, he'll give you two free movie tickets to that film you want to go to! Sure, the tickets are for a theatre in Germany, but you can make it, right? Oh, you can't? Too bad. He'll just give you a sweet kiss then.

Since he's still a puppy, Jetson has only had experience with crates and is learning how to use a dog door so he will need help with the basics (leashes, potty training, commands). So if you can't make it to Germany for those movie tickets, he'll give you a coupon to your local grocery store. Better hurry up, though! It expires tomorrow!

It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
