DESCRIPTION
Blue Thunder is a 5-year-old white and black big boy with mismatched eyes, and a story that'll stay with you. Life circumstances brought Blue to us from the only home he's ever known, where he was his person's best friend for five years.
Blue is deaf, and he's learned to read human gestures and body language. He's calm, soulful, and has a quiet confidence about him. He's the kind of dog who will find the sunniest patch of grass, settle in, and just be.
A few things his adopter should know going in: Blue is a couch dog through and through, and when he's claimed his spot, he's not always happy about sharing it. He has snapped in this context, so we're recommending a home with older kids and teenagers rather than young children, and an adopter who's comfortable working through this behavior with him. Blue will go home with a training plan that addresses furniture boundaries and gives him an alternate behavior to fall back on so you won't be starting from scratch.
Blue Thunder also comes with some health needs. He's carrying extra weight, which exacerbates a suspected chronic knee injury that affects his mobility. He'll need some accommodations and a little patience with his pace- though every once in a while he gets a burst of energy. All of this is manageable, but it means Blue needs an adopter who's ready to be an active partner in his care.
What you get in return is a gentle guy with a whole lot of love left to give and five years of practice being somebody's everything.
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
