Home Fries has a smile that will melt your heart quicker than butter on a hot skillet! His grin is almost as endearing as his personality, which is as happy, as loving, and as gentle as you would hope a distinguished gentle-dog of 5 years to be!
This brindle babe has the smarts to match his looks: Home Fries knows "sit," "paw," walks beautifully on the leash and is non-reactive to people and dogs. He is wonderful in our kennel, just as he was at Chicago Animal Care and Control. He is calm and patient and not vocal. We wonder if his ability to fly under the radar by being such a good boy is why he was overlooked at CACC for TWO whole months!
A group of our volunteers and staff went to CACC recently to participate in an "enrichment day" down there, by spending time with the dogs and handing out treats and Kongs. Upon their return, volunteers could not stop raving about this Home Fries dog, and we could not believe we had not heard of him or met him on one of our weekly trips to CACC to meet dogs. We knew we had to bring him over, and are so glad we did.
Home Fries is simply a delight. He is well-behaved, smart, social, and clearly incredibly resilient to have withstood two months at CACC without losing his mind! It is high time this boy had a home of his very own.
Home Fries's adoption fee is $300. This animal is neutered, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
