If your perfect day is a slow stroll, a shady nap, and maybe a splash in the kiddie pool, Spanky is your guy. This sweet, low-key explorer came to the shelter as an owner surrender, and while we don’t know much about his past, we do know he’s a gentle soul with a soft heart…and a serious love for hamburgers. Treats? He’ll politely spit them out. Burgers? He’s a connoisseur.

Spanky starts off timid and a little aloof, especially with quick touches near his face, but give him time and a calm vibe and you’ll see the sweetest, most polite gentleman emerge. He knows “sit,” walks beautifully on leash, and enjoys taking in the sights and smells. On hot days he’s a water fan—watching him wade will make you jealous of his chill.

Around other dogs, Spanky’s play style is Gentle & Dainty. He’s tolerant but can feel overwhelmed, so he’d do best with a respectful, lower-energy dog or as your one-and-only cuddle buddy. He’s more relaxed and social the longer he knows you—patience pays off with this brindle boy.

His compatibility with cats is currently unknown and he would prefer a home with kids over 14 years old.

Si votre journée parfaite ressemble à une promenade tranquille, une sieste à l’ombre et peut-être un petit plongeon dans une piscine pour enfants, alors Spanky est le compagnon qu’il vous faut.

Ce doux explorateur au tempérament calme est arrivé au refuge suite à une remise par son propriétaire. Même si on connaît peu son passé, on sait qu’il a une âme tendre et un cœur sensible… ainsi qu’un sérieux amour pour les hamburgers. Les gâteries? Il les recrache poliment. Les burgers? C’est un vrai connaisseur.

Spanky peut être un peu timide et distant au départ, surtout lorsqu’on le touche rapidement près du visage. Mais avec du temps et une ambiance calme, il révèle un gentleman des plus doux et respectueux. Il connaît le commandement « assis », marche très bien en laisse et aime observer le monde en sentant toutes les odeurs autour de lui. Par temps chaud, il adore l’eau — le voir patauger vous donnera presque envie de lui voler sa sérénité.

Avec les autres chiens, son style de jeu est doux et délicat. Il est tolérant, mais peut facilement se sentir dépassé, donc il serait idéal avec un chien respectueux et calme, ou comme compagnon unique pour des moments câlins. Il devient plus détendu et sociable à mesure qu’il connaît les gens — la patience est récompensée avec ce beau tigré.

Sa compatibilité avec les chats est actuellement inconnue et il préfère une maison avec enfants plus de 14 ans seulement.
