Meet Snowball! He is a sweet 16 year old pup who was surrendered to ACCT Philly as a euthanasia request on February 22nd. His owners stated that Snowy had never seen a vet in the 16 years they'd had him, but that he had recently developed some weakness in his hind limbs. Upon arrival to the shelter, a veterinary exam found that Snowy was stable but has vision impairment secondary to incomplete cataracts, nuclear sclerosis, prognathism, a grade II/VI systolic heart murmur, hind end weakness possibly due to osteoarthritis, and alopecia on his tail.
Snowy's health conditions are not emergent and he is expected to have a good quality of life. .

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
