Were fairly certain she once belonged to someone. Somehow, this tiny girl ended up on her own, surviving for months along a ditch bank near a trailer just down the road from our shelter. A kind woman made sure she had food every day, but Sassy was simply too frightened to let anyone get close. Instead, she spent her days hanging out with the womans chickens and keeping her distance. Catching her wasnt easyshes as fast as lightning! We eventually had to safely trap her just to get her out of harms way.

Since coming into our care, Sassy has made incredible progress. Shes discovering that people can be kind and that life doesnt have to be scary. Once she trusts you, shell love you with her whole heart.

Sassy is still a puppy, just under a year old. Shes fully vetted, heartworm negative, and about 18 lbs.
She absolutely adores other dogs. She would thrive in a home with a confident canine companion to help her continue building her confidence.

Because of her history, Sassy is a significant flight risk. She will require a very secure fenced yard and a family committed to being extra careful with doors, gates, and outings. This isnt because shes a bad dog its because shes incredibly quick and still learning that shes finally safe.

Sassy isnt looking for just any home. Shes looking for the right one: a patient family willing to earn her trust and give her the time she needs to blossom. The reward will be a loyal little companion who will love you with everything she has.
