Life started out rough for sweet Matilda. As a tiny 6-pound puppy, she was alone and scared in a very big world. After wandering up to a stranger's house covered in fleas and mange, her life finally began to change for the better.
Matilda is now about 10 months old and has blossomed into a funny, energetic, and entertaining young pup. She was briefly adopted but returned simply because her family wasn't ready for her puppy energy and had no idea what a herding breed dog actually does. Now she's looking for the right forever home that will love her for the playful girl she is.
Matilda would do best with an active owner and would absolutely love a dog friend who enjoys playing as much as she does. She's happiest when surrounded by toys, playtime, and people who enjoy her silly personality.
True to her name, Matilda is a bit of a queen and can be slightly opinionated when meeting new people. She prefers to take a moment to observe before making the first move, but once she warms up, she's affectionate, loyal, and full of love.
She gets along well with other dogs and doesn't mind cats at all. Sometimes she'd love to play with them, but she seems to understand when they're not interested.
Matilda is kennel trained and doing well learning her house manners. She's a smart girl and a quick learner -- she's just had a lot of change in her short life and is still figuring things out.
Because she can get excited and energetic, Matilda would do best in a home with older children who can handle her playful enthusiasm.
Matilda is ready to find her forever people -- a family who will enjoy walks, playtime, cuddles, and plenty of laughs with this charming, spirited girl.
Could Matilda be the missing piece in your home? 💛
