Meet Walter! Walter is the last of the group that we received from Animal Control, and he has been the most scared. As you can see, he is not doing well in the shelter environment, and would benefit from a quiet home with a patient and loving person who can teach him how wonderful life can be when he has a family who loves him.
Despite his short stature, he can jump quite high, so he will need a fenced in yard that is at least 6 feet tall. All of the dogs from that group were unsocialized, and had never been house trained or leash trained, so he will require patience, kindness, and consistency, as learning these skills will take time. He is food motivated, so training him should be easier once he is in a home environment .
He is neutered, and up to date on vaccinations. For more information, please call the shelter at 906-643-7646. The Mackinac County Animal Shelter is open every day of the week from 10am to 2pm.
