Hi, I'm Patch!

My best friend Linda and I were found at the bottom of a hill in Mexico, hungry, exhausted, and covered in ticks. We were feeling pretty defeated, but even then, something inside me said, “Hang in there, buddy.” And then, just like that — kind humans appeared. They gave us food, gently removed all those nasty ticks, and most importantly, showed us love. It was the first time in a long while I felt safe... and I made sure to show them just how thankful I was with lots of tail wags and kisses.

Since then, I've been on the mend — both inside and out. While getting checked out, the vets found a few more things that needed healing, but no worries — I got the care I needed and bounced back like a champ. I do have a scar around my neck which led my rescues to believe that I was chained and as I grew no one refitted my collar. But it's totally healed now and you can't really see it unless you scratch under my fur — which I hope you do, because I love being petted! I've even grown some longer fur since then, especially around my neck and down my back — it's a bit wiry and very cute, if I may say so myself. You'd never know I was once in such rough shape!

These days, I'm the shelter's resident gentleman. Even though I'm still young, people say I've got the heart of an old soul. I come running when visitors arrive, ready to give love and get loved on — but I'm never pushy or all over you. My best friend Linda might jump straight into your arms, but I prefer to walk up with a tail wag and a gentle nudge. I'm affectionate, calm, and curious about everything happening around me.

I'm great with other dogs — I've never had an issue with anyone here. I love to play, but I also really enjoy just laying back and relaxing, watching the world go by. I'm good with cats too! I've met a few and was more curious (and a bit unsure) than anything else. I'd probably do just fine in a home with dog-savvy cats. I'm also very gentle with the rescue owner's 7-year-old daughter — I soak up all the love I can get and enjoy being petted for ages. Honestly, I'm just a sweet, peaceful boy who wants to be close to kind humans.

I've come so far already, and I know I'd make a wonderful companion — whether you're heading out for an adventure or staying in for some couch cuddles. I'm loyal, loving, and so ready to find my forever home. Maybe it's with you?

With tail wags and puppy kisses,
Patch

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
