Meet Juliet!

I'm a 2-year-old Aussie mix is ready to find her happily-ever-after!

I originally came to Oregon from Texas with a litter of puppies, and now that my mama duties are behind me, it's finally MY turn to be somebody's baby! I'm spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and ready to start my next chapter.

My personality? Absolutely wonderful! I'm friendly with people and have no problem climbing right into your lap for some affection. I'm also quite talented at putting my nose to the floor to investigate any potentially edible discoveries. Romance is lovely, but snacks are forever.

Now, there is something special about me that my future family should understand. I have crossed eyes, and my eyes don't respond to light as expected. Based on what we've observed, I'm likely visually impaired and may be blind, although we can't say exactly how much I can see. Every now and then, I narrowly miss bumping into a chair or trash can, so I may have some limited vision, but it's difficult to know for sure.

My crossed eyes could be associated with my genetics. In Aussies dogs, breeding two merle-patterned dogs together can increase the risk of inherited eye abnormalities and vision problems. We don't know my parents' genetics or the cause of my eye condition, so we can't say that's what happened in my case. My eye alignment may also become more noticeable over time, and a veterinary eye evaluation would help clarify my condition and what to expect.

The good news is that dogs with limited vision can still enjoy wonderful lives! I'll benefit from a predictable home, keeping furniture in consistent places, using verbal cues to help me navigate, and introducing new spaces gradually. My family should also take care around stairs, traffic, and other hazards while learning what I can safely manage.

I'm a sweet, social girl who wants to be part of the action, snuggle with my people, and investigate every interesting smell. I don't need perfect eyesight to have a perfect place in your heart.
