Scrappy-Doo is a nervous small dog; he is gaining confidence in his foster home with the help of patient, kind caregivers and 2 resident dogs. Scrappy-Doo was likely not well-socialized as a young puppy and now, new people and loud or sudden noises scare him. His foster caregiver is helping him bolster his confidence on leash and taking him out for 2 short walks per day. When Scrappy-Doo is comfortable with someone, he's very sweet and cuddly. He'll jump up onto a couch or lap if you are still and calm, but he is not yet completely comfortable being grabbed or picked up. He may do best in a home with older children and adults only.
Scrappy-Doo was transferred to Valley Humane on 2/25 from Stockton Animal Services. He weighs 10.8 pounds.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
