Limber - Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Limber ACCT-A-261774 is a 1-year-old male who came in as a stray on 9/14. Finder noted that he is "very friendly, pulls some on leash, and has gunky eyes." Limber is a phenomenally friendly skinny boy who loves affection & attention! He will come over when called with the wiggliest body you've ever seen for some pets! Unfortunately, Limber was assessed to be in very poor body condition, and has conjunctivitis OU, scarring & patchy alopecia, mild BUN elevation, and hyperglobulinemia. Due to this, this slim puppy is looking for placement outside of the shelter for some R&R! Could you take a look at lovely Limber?

MEDICAL:



Per his exam on 9/16, Limber has mucoid debris OU, scarring on pinnal flaps and a deformity of the right maxillary lip due to a previous dog fight. His MM is pink, with mild staining. He has many scars and old bite wounds, as well as patchy areas of alopecia. He was shy but behaved well for his exam! He was assessed to have conjunctivitis OU, mild BUN elevation, and hyperglobulinemia.



Per his exam on 9/14, Limber was BAR (bright, alert and responsive), and emaciated. He has a Body Condition Score of 2 (Very Thin).



BEHAVIORAL:



Per staff on 9/16:

"Kennel Presentation: Sitting at the front of his crate loose body, soft eyes, ears back, doing some tippy taps. Stood up with low tail wags as I reached for the door.

Leash Skills: Wiggly when leashing, came right out and pulled mildly on leash, low tail wags, loose body, ears back.

Sociability: Would come over when I called to him with a loose body, low tail wags, ears back, head lowered, wide soft eyes. When handling low still tail, ears back, tenser body, moved away when I stopped. Went to the bathroom, when I grabbed a poop bag he jumped up at it in my hand snapping and got a little piece then spit it out had a loose body, low tail wags, soft eyes. I put the poop bag away and needed to return later for it. When trying to get a picture of him I l held my phone lower and he came over and mouthed at it. Stopped when I put my phone away.

Play: Would go over and nibble at the toys in the yard then drop them when I started moving his direction.

Dog Interaction: n/a

Return to Kennel: Walked back loose leash with a loose body and low tail wags. Stopped outside his crate and pulled back on the leash. Needed leash pressure to enter crate and leash was clipped to remove.

"Steer test 2-4/5 with water and 1/5 with can. Appropriate greetings. Mingled around. Attempted to hump and was steered off by staff"
