What we know: Adult female dog and her litter of 6 puppies transferred from the Animal Services Center of Mesilla Valley after being found abandoned on the side of the road in a plastic kennel. Came with the name Kara.
From the foster: Penny is a kind and very sweet little lady. She is well mannered and polite. She loves to give gentle kisses and does not beg for food, but can let it known when she wants a little snuggle of attention.
She is shy at first and takes a little while to warm up, but once she does, she is a cuddle bug. Loud noises can be scary for her, and she will run to you for protection.
Penny responds to her name and verbal "touch" hand/palm commands. She is nearly potty trained and plays nicely with toys, her puppy sister, and people. She loves having chew toys available to keep her active. Do take care to mind her teeth and nails as all puppies are still learning how to play softly. She's very smart and low to medium energy. If you hold her, she'll fall in love with you and be a loyal friend for life.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
