Mixed Breed Dogs Available for Adoption

Meet Kara Zor-El, a 2-year-old mixed breed weighing 30 pounds, named after Supergirl herself after making her way from Metropolis. While she may look bigger in photos, she’s actually a perfectly petite little hero in real life—and one that’s impossible not to fall in love with.

Kara is everything you’d hope for in a sidekick: friendly, outgoing, adaptable, and full of joy. She loves everyone she meets and has a special talent for turning “non-dog people” into dog lovers with her enthusiastic greetings. She may jump up to say hello, but it’s always gentle and full of affection.

She’s house and crate trained, though she’d much rather be curled up next to her humans if given the choice. She can also be trusted loose in the home and settles in well. Kara needs a home without shared walls, as she can be vocal when watching the world go by through the windows.

Kara has a deformed front leg from a past injury, but don’t let that fool you—it doesn’t slow her down one bit. She’s resilient, fast, and can zoom around the yard with the best of them, truly living up to her Supergirl name.

She loves playing with her canine friends, spending time with kids, going for walks (whether short strolls or longer hikes), and hopping in the car for her next adventure—she’ll even try to invite herself along if you’re heading out. More than anything, Kara wants to be part of a family and included in everyday life.

Kara is heartworm positive and has started treatment. Wish Bone will continue to provide her treatment through our vet or by providing medication to the adopter's vet.

Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
