Adoption Fee $550
This litter was living with their mom under a trailer in a rural area. Shelters packed and unable to intake the family. The pups are likely 7ish weeks and 9-12lbs. They are mixed breed- we don’t know the breed mixes and we don’t know potential adult size. They have no training. Mom is pictured here and she has already been adopted. These pups are energetic. These pups will need active homes. Pups have age appropriate vaccines, are fixed and chipped- please read below for more details on the application and adoption process.

Thank you for your interest. If a dog is listed at https://www.petfinder.com/member/us/sc/mt-pleasant/palmetto-paws-animal-rescue-sc316 then we are still taking applications. The application link is https://form.jotform.com/250175174725154 .
We do not consider applications for dogs not listed on Petfinder. When dogs are vetted and ready for adoption they are posted and at that time only we will take applications. If beside a listing “adoption pending” is stated then we have approved an adopter and the adoption is pending a “meet and greet”. Adopters must be at least 25 years of age. We do not keep applications, “on file” or hold for a later date. We do expect that those who rent have received approval from their landlord to adopt.
All info we have on any dog is listed in the bio. Please take the time to READ THE BIO in full as we will not respond to questions that are already answered in the bio. We will not entertain any questions until an application has been submitted and approved. Most pups are mixed breed and we simply guess if we do list a breed. Our guess is based on appearance so we could be completely wrong. We have no idea how small or large any of our mixed breed pups will be at adulthood. We do not foster to adopt.
The application for adoption is on the home page of our petfinder page. We don’t consider incomplete applications so please take the time to thoroughly and accurately complete the application. This includes the question on heartworm disease as this is a 100% preventable yet potentially deadly illness. If you are not familiar with it, research it and complete the question. We don’t consider applications if they do not comply with any adoption stipulation dictated in the bio.
We meet with the selected applicant for a specific pup, we are not able to accommodate requests to meet multiple pups. If you are interested in more than one pup listed you are welcome to indicate that on your application but we will only arrange a meet with one pup as pups reside in multiple different foster homes. There is no facility to visit.
Completing an application does not guarantee an adoption. We do not foster to adopt. Our goal is the best match for both the dog and the adoptive family.
We are an all volunteer foster based group. There is no facility to visit, we meet privately with approved applicants. Meets and adoptions take place on Saturdays. If you are not ready to adopt and available this coming Saturday please DO NOT complete an application as it will not be considered. We do not process and “hold” applications for a later date. We do consider out of state applicants as long as the applicant is willing to come to Charleston to complete the adoption.
If all goes well at the time we meet with the approved applicant then the adoption takes place at that time. We strive to reply in a timely fashion but please remember we all work full time in addition to our rescue efforts.
Thank you for your interest in adopting from Palmetto Paws. If you are interested in meeting one of our listed pets please complete the application on our home page.  Due to the numerous applications we receive we wil be only in touch with applicants we approve and who we feel are a good match for the particular pup/dog.  Thanks for looking to adopt a rescued pup!

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
