Léon est un chien attachant avec un regard des plus expressifs. Du haut de ses 8 ans, il conserve une belle énergie tout en appréciant les moments plus tranquilles. C'est un compagnon joueur qui aime autant partir ŕ l'aventure que se reposer confortablement dans son lit ou sur le sofa.

Trčs sociable avec les humains, Léon accueille souvent les inconnus avec enthousiasme, en présentant ses fesses pour se faire gratouiller. Il crée rapidement des liens et apprécie participer au quotidien de sa famille tout en respectant l'espace de chacun. Bien qu'il aime ętre prčs de ses humains, il n'est pas envahissant.

Léon adore jouer ŕ la balle ou au tug et n'hésite pas ŕ apporter ses jouets lorsqu'il souhaite interagir. Ŕ la maison, il est généralement calme et capable de se reposer pendant que ses humains vaquent ŕ leurs occupations. Ses besoins d'exercice sont modérés : une bonne promenade en avant-midi et une sortie plus courte le soir lui conviennent généralement bien. L'hiver est sa saison préférée et il accompagnera volontiers sa famille lors de longues marches ou randonnées.

Trčs gourmand, Léon répond particuličrement bien au renforcement positif, ce qui facilite son entraînement. Il a toutefois la charmante habitude de quémander ŕ table avec un regard particuličrement convaincant.

Léon recherche un foyer oů il sera le seul animal. Il présente parfois des comportements de prédation envers les chats et les petits animaux, particuličrement ŕ l'extérieur. Habitué ŕ la vie en appartement, il s'y adapte trčs bien lorsque ses besoins sont comblés. Une famille avec des enfants de 10 ans et plus pourrait lui convenir.

Son principal défi demeure sa réactivité envers les autres chiens. Il aura besoin d'une personne attentive ŕ son environnement et pręte ŕ poursuivre le travail déjŕ amorcé avec lui. Avec de la gestion, de la constance et du renforcement positif, Léon est capable de continuer ŕ progresser. Il bénéficierait également de poursuivre graduellement son travail de désensibilisation aux manipulations et aux soins vétérinaires.

Léon a été profondément aimé pendant huit ans par sa famille et nous avons pleinement confiance en sa capacité ŕ créer un lien fort avec ses futurs adoptants. C'est un chien attachant et affectueux qui a encore énormément d'amour ŕ offrir aux humains pręts ŕ l'accompagner avec douceur, compréhension et constance.

Léon is an endearing dog with an incredibly expressive gaze. At 8 years old, he still has plenty of energy while also appreciating quieter moments. He is a playful companion who enjoys both adventures and relaxing comfortably in his bed or on the couch.

Very social with people, Léon often greets strangers enthusiastically, presenting his backside in hopes of a good scratch. He forms bonds quickly and enjoys being involved in his family's daily life while still respecting everyone's personal space. Although he likes being close to his people, he is not overly demanding of attention.

Léon loves playing fetch and tug, and he will happily bring his toys over when he wants to interact. At home, he is generally calm and able to relax while his humans go about their day. His exercise needs are moderate: a good walk in the morning and a shorter outing in the evening are usually enough to keep him happy. Winter is his favorite season, and he would gladly join his family on long walks or hikes.

Highly food-motivated, Léon responds very well to positive reinforcement, making training enjoyable and rewarding. He does, however, have the charming habit of begging at the table with an especially convincing look.

Léon is looking for a home where he will be the only pet. He can display predatory behaviors toward cats and small animals, particularly outdoors. Having lived successfully in an apartment, he adapts well to this lifestyle as long as his physical and mental needs are met. A family with children aged 10 and older could be a good match for him.

Léon’s main challenge is his reactivity toward other dogs. He will need a person who is attentive to their surroundings and willing to continue the work that has already been started with him. With management, consistency, and positive reinforcement, Léon can continue to make progress. He would also benefit from gradually continuing his desensitization work around handling and veterinary care.

Léon was deeply loved by his family for eight years, and we have every confidence in his ability to form a strong bond with his future adopters. He is an affectionate and lovable dog with so much love left to give to the people who are ready to support him with patience, understanding, and consistency.
