Foster to adopt families must live within one hour of DE and be willing to travel here for the pending appointment.

Housebroken: You're funny. She's still a tiny baby, but it's a work in progress. She does use pee pad and is learning to potty outside but will still have accidents.

Crate trained: Koala doesn't mind the crate. She eats in a crate and will go in for treats. She will sing you the song of her people if she thinks she is missing something but settles quickly.

Good in the car: Koala is a great passenger. She has ridden in my daughter's lap and in a crate and did well with both.

Good on a leash: Everyday is a step in the right direction. We've gone from hiding under a bush on the leash to loving walking around the yard. Going past cars is SCARY and she will pancake until picked up.

Energy level: Normal puppy energy - lightning speed one moment and sleeping the next. Super high energy when released from her crate but a demure and sophisticated lady when held.

Need a fenced in yard: No. If you do not have a fence Koala will need to be leash walked often and trips to a dog park will be a must to get her energy out.

Dog Friendly: Yes, is currently fostered with other dogs. They get along well and play together.

If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No, Koala would not need another dog in the home.

Cat Friendly? Unknown, with proper introductions they should get along fine.

Kid Friendly: Yes! Koala loves kids.

If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? 5, with supervision. She loves all people no matter their size but is still learning not to jump and chew fingers, she will need to be taught hands and toes are not toys.

Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them?

Koala is a feisty little girl. She may be small but she sure is MIGHTY. Koala loves to be with people and is so happy to see you every time you come through the door. She is learning to play with toys, has sort of learned to sit and how to accept cuddles. She loves to run and will thrive in an environment where she has a lot of physical exercise and mental stimulation due to her breed. Border Collies are very smart working dogs, Koala will need a family that will spend time on training as well as give her outlets for her energy.

Fosters Location: Smyrna, DE

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
