Dog Name: Campari
Breed: mix
Sex: f
Age: 7 weeks
Weight: 5 lbs
Medical Needs: Remainder of puppy shots, and rabies once old enough. Must be spayed/neutered by the end July 2026. The appointment is included in the adoption fee at one of the clinics we use, and the foster-to-adopt family will need to email GRR to request the appointment when puppy is 18-20 weeks at the clinic closest to them. (Options are Wilmington, Newark, Dover, Georgetown.) Keeping the appointment that's assigned by the clinic will be a condition of adoption. Foster to adopt families must live within 1 hour of DE and be willing to travel here for the pending appointment
Housebroken: No, she is a baby. There is a learning curve and will take quite some time. Keep the level of work in mind when getting a puppy.
Crate trained: working on it. Will go in willingly.
Good in Car: not yet
Good on leash: NO, again she is a baby. She is learning.
Energy Level: puppy energy. She does a lot of sleeping but will play like a puppy and she loves toys
Need a fenced in yard: TBD. Puppies should not be outside unsupervised
Dog friendly: yes.
Cat friendly: no idea. Not currently with cats at her foster home
Kid friendly: yes (currently resides with teenage human siblings) but children need to understand that puppys nibble and that they need to respect the animal and learn with him. Not recommended for very young children as puppies need gentle handling
Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Campari is a puppy. A BABY. She needs someone to show her the rules of life. Make strong boundaries so she can grow up and be the queen of her castle. She eats 3 times a day. She's a baby and needs proper nutrition. She is still growing. While she has no medical needs that we know of, it is still a condition of adoption that she be altered.
HER PERFECT FAMILY:
-Will be home a lot until at minimum6 months old. She is a puppy and requires a lot of potty breaks.
- She needs a schedule and to be worked with to learn your routine.
- If you have children, they need to respect the dog.
Fostered: middletown DE
