Teala is a quiet, gentle old lady who needs a nice comfy place to land. She is hesitant here at the shelter where things are loud and overwhelming, but we just know she'll open up and show her true colors once she finds a home of her own. We saw some of that personality shine through when she went to playgroup, where she played the role of calm elder among a group of much younger and more energetic dogs. Teala is a favorite among staff, as she stands out with her calm, gentle, and careful energy.
On 2/18/26 Teala attended playgroup. She was friendly, social, but not so playful. When pets would come to greet her she would get uncomfortable (hackles raised) but tolerated them even when they would attempt to play with her. Also co-existed with a small dog in the yard.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
