DESCRIPTION

From a staff member:

02/17/2026- I took Lily outside today. In the kennel, she was lying on the bed and didn't get up when tried to get her attention. When I leashed her and tried to get her out the kennel she wouldn't get off the bed. She did eventually get up, but you have to be patient. She walked really well on the leash. Once we got outside that's when she opened up more. She was way more friendly, coming up for pets often. She would chase after the ball. She would even chase me playfully. She's low energy in the kennel and moderate energy outside. She is playful, affectionate, and friendly. There were dogs in the other yards and she seemed curious about them. Putting her back in the kennel was a little difficult. She'd be great for anyone looking for a couch potato in the house and a playful girl outside.

02/20/2026- Lily had a dog test with two dogs today. She met Sashi (53118) and Leo (52994). With Sashi, Lily was more interested in her than Sashi was to Lily. Lily kept trying to smell Sashi, but Sashi would run and hide behind any nearby human. Lily seemed friendly towards Sashi with a loose body posture and wagging tail. Lily tried initiating play with Sashi, but Sashi wasn't interested.
With Leo, Lily gave a low growl during their meeting through the gate. When we let Leo in, he immediately went to smelling Lily and she did stiffen a little. She gave a low growl and he backed away. They then tended to avoid each other. There was another male in the other play yard that she also gave a low growl to, so I think she prefers female dogs to male dogs.

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
