Cruz is a 6-month-old Rat Terrier mix-well, our best guess based on his look and body type! He came to BENCHS from a high-risk shelter area with his brother, and they now weigh around 14 to 16 pounds, likely growing to about 30 pounds. Cruz is friendly, confident, and eager to meet his forever family. He's affectionate and loves interacting with people. In his past time, Cruz enjoys high-speed chases with his brother around the adoption room. Peanut butter is his favorite snack, and he's extremely food-driven, which will make training a breeze. Cruz would thrive in a home with another social dog. While we don't know if he's been around cats or small kids, he's young, jumpy, and still learning his manners. He's working on basic commands and will need continued potty training. Cruz is ready to bring joy, energy, and cuddles to his new family!
ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
