Lady is a social, affectionate girl with a big heart and a playful, energetic spirit. She loves being close to her people and prefers to spend her time wherever the action is, making her a wonderful companion for someone looking for a dog who truly enjoys human connection. Lady is active and fun-loving, but she also has a sweet, baby-at-heart personality that shines through in her constant affection.
She walks well on leash with very little pulling and enjoys daily walks to get her energy out. Lady is crate trained, does well in her crate, and is comfortable settling in when it's time to relax. She enjoys grooming and even loves bath time and water. While she can be nervous and antsy in the car, she continues to show how adaptable and well-mannered she can be in her daily routine. Lady knows several basic cues and is eager to please, especially when love or toys are involved. She adores bones and squeaky toys and would make a joyful, loving addition to the right home.
My #BoroughBreak Buddy Writes:Lady is a little snuggle bug! She's eager-to-please and loves people. Her favorite place is to be in your lap or leaning against you. She has this pure, baby-at-heart nature that you can't help but love.
For our BoroughBreak, We went to Liberty State Park and strolled along the water. Lady walks great on the leash, listens to cues, and regularly checks in -often more excited about the walker than the walk! She loved watching the ducks and geese. Lady took new experiences in stride. She was neutral while passing other dogs. Lady loves to run and play! I threw balls and sticks for her to chase. She is so happy and pure of heart it's impossible to not have fun. We checked out the Statue of Liberty and snuggled on a park bench. Lady quickly takes to people and will give kisses and ask for belly rubs! She was a good sport about me wiping her paws.
Lady was a little anxious during the initial car ride (panting and whimpering). For this reason, I wanted to spend some more time in the car to get her accustomed. We took a nap in the backseat and I associated the car with positive experiences like treats and pets. She settled and napped in my lap. After this, car rides were a breeze! I found a car harness and getting in with her helped.
Back at my apartment, Lady was well-behaved and continued being her happy self. I could tell she was not used to stairs, but she learned quickly, deciding that if I went up, she would too! We hung out in a sunbeam while I read. Lady is easy-going and enjoys being near people regardless of what you're doing. She likes to watch what goes on around her. Honestly, she made it such an easy day! I think Lady's positive and eager-to-please nature are going to make her such a great companion.
