Elena is a 2-year-old black lab mix weighing 46 pounds, and her gentle soul tells a story of quiet strength. She was found at an oilfield site, abandoned in the middle of nowhere while nursing seven puppies. Skinny and underweight, Elena gave everything she had to keep her babies alive, putting their needs before her own day after day.
Thanks to a kind person who refused to look the other way, Elena and her puppies were brought to safety. Her babies now have the chance at full, happy lives - and it's finally Elena's turn.
Despite everything she's been through, Elena remains incredibly sweet, calm, and loving. She walks well on leash, does well with other dogs, and has a submissive, easygoing nature. She's quiet in her kennel, seeks gentle affection, and looks at you with soulful eyes that seem to say she's just ready to be safe now.
Elena has done her job as a mother. She's ready to retire from motherhood and go from rags to riches - to a life where meals are guaranteed, love is constant, and she'll never have to worry about being abandoned or going hungry again.
All Elena wants is a warm, cozy place to call home and someone to love her as deeply as she loves in return. If you're looking for a gentle, kind companion who deserves a beautiful second chapter, Elena is waiting.

We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have animals at our office, and not all animals attend adoption events. To coordinate a meet and greet with a specific animal please contact us!
We can only finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better, it takes time to review and approve applications!
We host adoption events almost every Saturday from *11:00 AM to 2:00 PM* around the Fort Collins community!
