Mixed Breed Dogs Available for Adoption

RAVEN

Mixed Breed
🇺🇸
Fairfax, Virginia
March 22nd
female, small, adult

DESCRIPTION

Raven is an adorable, 32-pound blue-and-white girl dog with the cutest little "smooshed" face and a big, happy personality to match! She’s usually one of the first to pop up at the front of her kennel to say hello, wiggling with excitement and hoping it’s her turn for attention. During handling she soaks up all the petting she can get and will gladly lean in or nudge you for "just a little more, please." In the shelter, Raven has shown that she’s a high-energy pup who really benefits from regular walks, playtime, and exercise. Due to her jumpy, mouthy play style when she’s very excited, Raven is looking for a home with human family members ages 13 and up! She will benefit from patient, diligent owners who can help her practice calm greetings and obedience training. Leashing her up can be a bit tricky because of her wiggles and enthusiasm to get going, but once out and about, she’s ready to explore and enjoy her day.

We recommend you bring the members of your household, including any canine companions, to meet Raven before taking her home to ensure she’s a good fit for your pack. Raven comes with a few medical conditions to be monitored by her adoptive family, including medial patellar luxation in her kneecaps and mild brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome. Any potential adopter should ask shelter staff for more information about Raven’s medical needs and be prepared to provide her with veterinary care as needed. Raven loves squeaky toys and will happily chase them around, and chicken-flavored treats are definitely the way to her heart. She’s looking for a home that can match her zest for life, offer plenty of activity, and enjoy all the affection she has to offer!

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
