DESCRIPTION

Shamrock Shake A182945
55 lb. neutered male, approx 1 1/2 years old

-This sweet boy is still taking the world in and learning about all the new things around him. Inside the room he was a little reserved at first, spending time sniffing and investigating everything like it was his first time seeing it--which made it clear he's still gaining confidence and life experience.

-He's very treat motivated and takes snacks gently. He doesn't quite understand "sit" yet, but we spent a little time working on it and he already seemed to be catching on. With a little consistency and patience, he'll likely pick things up quickly.

-Toys are still a bit of a mystery to him--he's curious about them but not totally sure what they're for just yet. He did seem to enjoy pets and especially some good butt scratches, though he never fully relaxed, likely just because everything still feels a little new.

-On leash he can pull a bit and occasionally does a cute little bounce-and-prance as he walks. Overall, he seems like a good-natured boy who simply needs a patient adopter to help him build confidence and show him how fun life can be. With a little time and guidance, he's likely to blossom into a wonderful companion.

-Seems non reactive to dogs nearby and may do well living with a fur sibling after slow and proper intros

Unknown behavior with dogs/cats/kids

*Meet all of our adoptable pets on our website friendsofdacc.org/adopt

*Please keep in mind that the shelter can be a very stressful environment.

*Studies show that a minimum of 3 days decompression drastically lower stress hormones and allow the dog to show more personality after they have settled in.

*There is a suggested donation of $100 for our dogs, payable by cash, check or through paypal at the time of the adoption.

*To meet them please go to front door and a DACC staff member will assist you with adoption or fostering.

**And when coming to meet one of our dogs, please bring all the humans with you, but leave any current dogs at home. Staff will go over how to slowly and properly introduce them after a decompression period.**

*The shelter is open 7 days a week from 10:30-5:30

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
